FMI is always on the lookout for the best talent. We are delighted therefore to introduce a new member to our Sales Incentive and Rewards Team. Nick Lancaster joins as Senior Programmes Manager after a decade’s experience working on key accounts for Toyota, BMW and O2, amongst others. He prides himself on a keen eye for detail and analytical approach – skills both needed to oversee the development of more than 20 incentive schemes currently running in the department. Here we give you an insight into his career path to FMI.
Nick found his first role as an administrator for a small Mystery Shopping Agency after responding to an advert in the local paper, looking for graduates wanting casual work over the summer. The agency was subsequently consumed by TNS and a seven-year grounding in research was born. This period provided invaluable operations and client handling experience as well as teaching Nick the overwhelming and vital importance of attention to detail.
A desire to try something more engaging was the motivation behind a move into the field of incentives and communications. But old habits die hard and Nick’s experience in research has resulted in an analytical approach to the running of sales incentives and reward and recognition projects.
Working at agencies such as Grass Roots, AYMTM and now FMI, Nick has been given the opportunity to work on some fantastic projects with some really great clients. Toyota, BMW, O2, IM Group, Sony Mobile and Sony PlayStation are just some of the businesses to benefit from Nick’s head for numbers and eye for detail. Nick lists managing the communications for the 2010 BMW UK Dealer Principal Conference in Beijing as his most challenging. But if you ever need a supplier of Terracotta Army figurines Nick is your man.
A sports fanatic with a passion for football, cricket and golf, Nick is quickly becoming more spectator than player due to the demands of 3 young daughters.
